Hi Etsy!
My name is Lilian Yi-Hsuan Lin.

Here's a letter for you.

Since I was little, I've loved making crafts. I made my shirt, drawstring bag, notebooks, necklace, and plenty of handmade cards for my family (dusted on my parents' bookshelf). It is my creative outlet that keeps me motivated and inspired. I'm thrilled at the thought of supporting all the like-minded people and makers to do what they love for a living — it would come full circle if I could join the force of connecting crafts with the mainstream.

I am a product designer at Heady, a growing mobile consultancy that builds scalable apps for long-term success. I help big and small brands, including Hibbett City Gear, Scotts MiracleGro, and Popviewers, to solve their business challenges from different growth phases (e.g., develop mobile Ecommerce strategy, introduce subscription-based service, and launch a beta app). By partnering with product managers, engineers, and product owners, I drive end-to-end research-driven design, work with data to measure performance, and present ideas to my team and stakeholders. When my manager and PM left the company, I took up the responsibility to guide new designers and junior PM on new initiatives.

Previously, I worked at PetTech and EdTech startups, where I participated in how teams rise and fall from the front row seat. Those experiences taught me the three pillars of running a successful company — user, technology, and business. Since then, I have been passionate about finding the intersection in every problem I tackle. Prior to that, I spent two years studying cognitive psychology to understand how people learn and had held a bachelor's degree in Industrial Design.

I would love to contribute to your mission and help make commerce better for everyone. Supporting small and local businesses connects deeply with my value system and has become my lifestyle. I am eager to have a conversation with you to learn more about your visions, challenges, and how I can contribute (such as Senior Product Designer, Marketplace Compliance). I appreciate your time in advance, looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Thanks and Regards,
Lilian

P.S.
I wanted to give a shout-out to whoever added the Fair Chance statement on the job post. It is crucial to recognize this marginal group in society, not looking away or reinforcing the systematic inequality.

"Additionally, we consider qualified applicants with criminal histories for employment on our team, assessing candidates in a manner consistent with the requirements of the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance."

You deserve an air high five!
